I am remodeling are kitchen and need all new kitchen appliances. Is there any discounts that I can ask for that I may not know about. I went to one local store and the gentlemen gave me a price of a gas stove that I want with cast iron grates and a nice refrigerator with the ice bucket on the door preferably counterdepth and the price for the kitchen package came out 00. He said that was his best contracting price, I just believe that there is something a little more less expensive out there. So is there any good online deals or stores that I can go to and what kind of questions can I ask the store employees about getting discounts on the appliances?

My son is 13 months old and had a high fever for three days, along with a red throat. I took him to the doctor on the third day. His fever started the break the morning of the visit, it was a low 100.5. As his fever broke he started to develop a red rash everywhere.

I told the nurse about his fever and red throat. She looked at his throat and said it was a little irritated, but not much. She noted he is not circumcised and asked if he’s been urinating normally. I said yes. She ordered a strep test, cbc, and urinalysis. She said uncircumcised babies are more likely to have a UTI and since he only had a fever and no other signs, she wanted to be sure.

My son was screaming insanely during the urinalysis because they initially used a tube that was too large. I had a chance to look down his throat and was saw it was indeed very red, with blisters. I saw the same thing during the second attempt at a smaller catheter. Even the aid commented on it.

I pointed it out the nurse as well as his growing rash. She looked again at his throat and said she saw one blister. Then they drew his blood. I mentioned the throat again and this time she called in the doctor who said he had several blisters.

Our total bill was 1.00, 2.00 was for the urinalysis, plus she also sent it out to a lab, so we’ll get another bill. She was aware from the beginning we were self-pay.

Should I complain? I feel she had no base for the urinalysis. He had no trouble urinating, no pain on urinating. He had a blistered, sore throat. She was thorough in other aspects and she did catch a lack of iron with the CBC and for that I am grateful. They also gave us a small discount for self-pay. However, I’m annoyed she did not see his blistered throat. I’m more than annoyed that my son endured what I believe was a very much en-needed catheter.

I respect her years of training, am looking for some common sense advice.
He’s doing fine now. Actually, the morning of the appointment, his fever went away and the rash erupted. He’s been fever-free for a day and just has the crazy rash. I also mentioned roseola at the initial appointment and again today for his follow-up, she said "no" both times.

I wish I had said something. I didn’t realize she was a nurse until we were halfway through the consult. I brought him in during walk-in appointment hours. Initially, she indicated he throat was only a little red. It wasn’t until the middle of the urinalysis that I saw the horribly red and blistered throat. Had I seen that prior, I would have refused. He’s my only child and I guess I’m still learning. I feel terribly guilty about his suffering and wish I had grown a pair. But, on the other hand, I took him to them because they’re professionals and I’m not.
Lori,

She did in fact, order the test on her own. She examined him then told me what was to be done and it was done. She may have asked the doctor after she examined him, but she told me me prior to that. The only thing I question is her ordering a urinalysis via a catheter when he had an obviously inflamed and blistered throat and was urinating normally. I spoke with aunt who is a pediatric RN and she feels this nurse’s personal opinions about circumcision influenced her decision to cath him. She also told they could have used a diaper cath and not a true catheter. She mentioned that if he did not have a sore blistered throat then she would have wanted a urinalysis too, but since he he obviously had a throat issue, it should not have been done. She also advised me not to be afraid to say no.

I’m still looking for a nice putter, but I don’t want to buy too early.

The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered. -Thomas Jefferson

A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is privately concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men … [W]e have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated, governments in the civilized world—no longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and the duress of small groups of dominant men. -Woodrow Wilson

And how true do these quotes ring today?
Scott- That’s entirely another question. I like partying and getting drunk, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t know what I’m talking about in other areas of life.
And let me add that I suppose we’re talking about a private central bank.

I live in Houston, TX, and we have a lot of cleaners in the area. Many of them charge around .50 to "dry clean" a pair of pants. A few, including a cleaner that is now offering a discount to employees of neighboring corporations, charge .99 for "dry cleaning" a pair of pants. With the discount, it still comes to .79 per pair.

This does not.. make.. sense. I can’t find a straight answer to this simple question:

How in the world could one cleaner charge 1/4 to 1/3 the price of another to "dry clean" a pair of pants? Or, to phrase it differently, how can a cleaner survive when their prices are 3 to 4 times as much as another?

There must be something that I don’t know — some cut corners. I put "dry clean" in quotes because I wonder if the discount cleaner is lying and not actually using PERC to clean the clothes. I heard a rumor before that discount cleaners pretty much just iron the clothes that they "dry clean".

I read one little rumor that the discount cleaners actually do dry clean but reuse the PERC for many loads.

In my state of origin (Arkansas), I never encountered such discount cleaners. To dry clean pants, I’d have to pay + per pair.

So what’s the truth?

I am confused on which badminton racket to buy, please guide and HELP. I am not pro but play good and have been using Yonex Muscle Power 7x racket and I like it. But I am looking for a new racket now around the price of 100-125$. My friends suggested to buy Li Ning brand because this brand is getting popular in USA and offering good discounts. I am getting Li Ning 300 (not sure if model is correct) which is priced at 200$ for about 120$. Please guide which racket should I buy? Yonex are still better rackets in the market? What about Victor brand? -Thanks
